INSTALLATION GUIDE

Samsung Smart TV

Difficulty: Beginner Estimated time: 3 minutes Last updated: 30 October 2026

Dedicated app planned for 2027. The browser works well today.

Samsung Smart TVs have an operating system called Tizen and a built-in browser called Internet. It works with DisplayFlow straight away — you need no app, no extra hardware and no configuration. Just the remote control and an internet connection. A dedicated Samsung app is planned for 2027, but there is no need to wait: this method works excellently today.

Planned for 2027: A dedicated DisplayFlow app for the Samsung Business Display Store will offer better performance and support for Samsung's signage-specific features. Until then, we recommend the browser method below, or Chromium in kiosk mode on a Raspberry Pi or mini PC if you want a dedicated player.

Compatibility

  • All Samsung Smart TVs from 2015 onwards with Tizen OS
  • Samsung Business Signage displays (QB, QE and QM series)
  • Samsung The Frame and The Serif TVs

How do I know if my TV has Tizen? Check whether it has Samsung's Smart Hub interface with app icons — if so, it is almost certainly Tizen.

Three steps

  1. 01

Open the browser on the TV

Press the Home button on the remote control. Find the "Internet" app among your apps. If it is not visible, open "Apps" and search for it — it is free and pre-installed on all Samsung Smart TVs.

  2. 02

    Go to https://displayflow.app/play

Select the address bar at the top of the browser and type https://displayflow.app/play. If you have a Samsung remote control with a microphone, you can use voice search to avoid typing.

Pro tip: the Samsung SmartThings app on your phone can work as a keyboard for the TV. Connect it to your TV via SmartThings and use your phone's keyboard instead of the remote control.

  3. 03

    Pair with the code

The same as on other platforms. Go to your dashboard, click "Add screen", enter the 6-digit code shown on the TV, and you are up and running.

Keep the TV running

Samsung TVs have a few settings that need changing for permanent signage use:

  1. 1

    Turn off automatic shutdown

Go to General → System Manager → Time → Sleep Timer → Off.
Also: General → Power Management → Auto Power Off → Off.

  2. 2

    Turn off eco mode

Eco modes can dim the screen or turn it off to save power. For signage use, you want the screen to be visible at all times.
Settings → General → Power Saving Mode → Off.

  3. 3

    Turn off Bixby (if present)

Bixby can sometimes open pop-up windows over the browser. Turn it off in Settings → General → Voice Assistant.
